From Liberia international airport (LIR): about 2.5 hours by car or transfer to House of Waves.
From Nosara airport: about 25 minutes by car or transfer to House of Waves.
From San José (SJO): continue to the Nosara area and Playa Garza by car or an arranged transfer.

HOW BOOKING WORKS
Plan it with Maya.
- Message us your dates, total group size and what you’re creating.
- We check availability and fit, and send you a price.
- 20% and a simple agreement hold your dates. 30% is due 120 days before arrival and the balance 30 days before.
- We help plan arrivals and any extras with local partners.
For an individual stay, use the Hospitable booking request on its stay page or message us on WhatsApp. Rates and dates are confirmed through Hospitable. Message us for a price.
WHOLE-PROPERTY BOOKING
Payments and changes
For a booking of all five stays: 20% when you sign the agreement, 30% 120 days before arrival and the balance 30 days before arrival. The whole house is from US$750 a night in the green season and from US$1,250 in the high season, all-in, for up to 15 guests.
Plans change: you can move your dates once, free of charge, to new dates within twelve months, subject to availability. If you cancel, payments made are not refunded, but if we rebook your dates we pass back what the new booking earns, beyond the first 20%.
This whole-property policy is separate from the terms for an individual stay booked through a booking platform.

How many people can stay at House of Waves?
Up to 15 guests in total when you rent the whole place: 13 in the five stays and 2 in the room behind the shala (queen bed, shared bathroom). Include teachers and facilitators in your guest count.
Can I rent the whole property for my own retreat?
Yes. Rent all five stays and the shared spaces for your retreat, workshop, family gathering or trip with friends. You can also book an individual stay.
Can I bring my own yoga teacher or facilitator?
Yes. You bring your teacher, teachings and program. House of Waves provides the stays and shared spaces, and can help arrange extras with trusted local partners.
What spaces are available for practice and circles?
There is a covered 42 m² shala with speakers and room for up to 18 people on mats, plus beachfront spaces for circles, movement, music and sunset gatherings. Mats are not provided; bring your own. Overnight accommodation is for up to 15 guests, in the five stays and the room behind the shala.
Can I host a music or singing retreat?
Yes. Music and singing circles are part of House of Waves. Plan your sessions and sound levels with Maya so the retreat respects our neighbours in Garza.
What are the food and kitchen options?
The property has two full kitchens for groups to use. A chef or catering can be arranged through trusted local partners; discuss the plan and availability with Maya.
Is there air conditioning and internet?
There is air conditioning in three of the five stays, and fibre internet. Check each stay page for its individual amenities.
How long can our group stay?
Stays of any length can be planned together, from a long weekend to a few weeks. Message us with your dates so we can check availability and fit.

Which airports can we fly into?

When are check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 3 pm and check-out is by 11 am. Ask about any early arrival or late departure; it depends on what is possible for your dates.

Where do guests 14 and 15 sleep?
In the room behind the shala: a queen bed for up to 2 guests with a shared bathroom. It is offered only when you rent the whole place.
Do you provide yoga mats?
No. Mats are not provided; please bring your own for your practice.
Can we bring instruments and play music?
Yes. Bring your songs, instruments and people. The shala has speakers. Plan sound levels and session times with Maya so we respect our neighbours in Garza.
What extras can you help arrange?
With trusted local partners we can help arrange yoga teachers, massage, sound healing, live music, excursions such as boat trips, horses and waterfalls, a chef or catering, and airport transfers. Partners are independent providers; we check availability for your dates and send you a price.
Can we rent the whole place for a family gathering or a trip with friends?
Yes. The whole place works for a retreat, workshop, family gathering or trip with friends. Travelling with children or have access needs? Ask us first and we’ll help you plan.
Can a couple or a small group book just one stay?
Yes. Book one of the five stays: Beachfront House (up to 4 guests), Beachfront Cabina (2), Bamboo Cabina (2), Cozy Casita (up to 3) or Oceanfront Bamboo Van (2). Each stay page shows its beds, amenities, price and availability.
Who will we plan with?
Maya, your host, plans your stay or retreat with you on WhatsApp, from dates and group size to arrivals and extras.
Is House of Waves a party venue?
House of Waves is a calm, respectful place for stays and groups. It is not a party house, and we care about our neighbours in Garza.
